This 9-day Paris and Switzerland tour is one of the most complete two-country European experiences available, combining the romance of France with the dramatic natural beauty of the Swiss Alps. You begin with three nights in Paris, starting with a city tour covering the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Elysees, Place de la Concorde, the Eiffel Tower (2nd floor), the Louvre Museum, and a leisurely Seine River Cruise. A full second day is dedicated to Euro Disney (Disneyland Paris), with both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park, making this an exceptional choice for families and groups travelling with children.
On Day 4, board the TGV high-speed train from Paris to Switzerland and settle into the stunning Alpine town of Grindelwald, with free time to explore charming Interlaken between Lakes Brienz and Thun. Day 5 is fully dedicated to the Jungfraujoch, the "Top of Europe" at 3,454 metres, reached by the Jungfrau Railway via Kleine Scheidegg. At the summit, explore the Sphinx Observatory, the Aletsch Glacier views, the Ice Palace, and hiking trails. Proceed for a city tour viewing the Arc de Triomphe, commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1806 to celebrate the French army's victories and completed in 1836. The arch is adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures, with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier underneath, commemorating those who died during World War I. The Arc de Triomphe serves as the starting point for the annual Bastille Day Military Parade. Pass along the Champs-Elysees, the famous avenue known for its high-end shopping, cafes, and theatres, stretching from the Arc de Triomphe to the Place de la Concorde and lined with luxury boutiques including Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Chanel. The avenue is also a popular spot for parades and public events such as the Tour de France finish line.
View Place de la Concorde, home to the 3,300-year-old Luxor Obelisk, an Egyptian monument gifted to France in the 19th century. During the French Revolution the square was the site of many executions including those of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. Today it is a symbol of peace and reconciliation. Board the Seine River Cruise, passing under famous bridges including Pont Neuf, Pont des Arts, and Pont Alexandre III, with the river providing a picturesque backdrop to Paris's most iconic landmarks including the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Louvre Museum, the Musee d'Orsay, the Conciergerie, and the Hotel de Ville.
Visit the Eiffel Tower, standing 324 metres tall (including its antenna), made of iron and painted in shades of brown. Take the elevator to the 2nd Level Observation Deck for a panoramic view of the city. At night, the tower is illuminated with thousands of twinkling lights, making for a truly magical sight. Visit the Louvre Museum, home to a vast collection of art and artefacts spanning thousands of years of human history, housed in a historic building originally built as a fortress in the 12th century. The museum is divided into eight departments covering Egyptian Antiquities, Near Eastern Antiquities, Greek, Etruscan and Roman Antiquities, Islamic Art, Sculptures, Decorative Arts, and Paintings. Proceed to the "Top of Europe" - Jungfraujoch, located between the peaks of Jungfrau and Monch at an altitude of 3,454 metres (11,332 feet). Board the Jungfrau Railway from Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen up to Kleine Scheidegg. The approximately 2-hour journey involves a steep ascent through tunnels and across bridges. The train journey halts at the intermediate station of Kleine Scheidegg, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the Eiger North Face, one of the most challenging climbs in the world.
Board the Cogwheel Train from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch, travelling through a series of tunnels carved into the mountains and offering breathtaking views of surrounding peaks and valleys. The train runs on a special track with a cogwheel that engages with a toothed rail, allowing it to climb steep inclines and navigate sharp turns. At the summit, explore a variety of attractions including the Sphinx Observatory, located at an altitude of 3,571 metres, offering panoramic views of the surrounding Alps and the Aletsch Glacier, the largest glacier in the Alps. The observatory also features a high-altitude research station and an exhibition on the history of the Jungfrau Railway. Walk across the Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrucke), the oldest and most iconic landmark in Lucerne, spanning the Reuss River and connecting the old town to the new town. The bridge's roof is decorated with a series of paintings depicting scenes from Swiss and Lucerne history and religious motifs.
