Nepal is a destination like no other where ancient temples stand in the shadow of the world's highest peaks and pristine jungles teem with exotic wildlife. This 8-day Nepal tour takes you through the very best the country has to offer, beginning in the historic capital city of Kathmandu, where UNESCO World Heritage sites and centuries-old traditions come alive at every turn. A scenic overnight stay in Nagarkot rewards you with breathtaking Himalayan sunrise views, including a glimpse of Mount Everest on a clear day.
From there, the journey winds through the iconic Manakamana Temple, reached via a scenic cable car ride, before arriving in Pokhara, Nepal's most beloved lakeside city. Nestled beside the tranquil Phewa Lake with the majestic Annapurna range as a backdrop, Pokhara is perfect for sightseeing, boating, and peaceful walks. The final leg takes you to Chitwan, home to one of South Asia's finest wildlife reserves, where elephant safaris, jungle walks, canoe rides, and vibrant Tharu cultural performances create truly unforgettable memories.
Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport, complete immigration formalities and collect your baggage. You will then be transferred to your hotel for check-in (early check-in is subject to availability).
In the afternoon, proceed to visit Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple — one of Nepal's most iconic and sacred sites. Perched atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, this ancient stupa beautifully blends Buddhist and Hindu traditions. Its striking white dome and gilded spire are adorned with the all-seeing eyes of Buddha, creating a serene and spiritual atmosphere. The site gets its popular name from the large population of monkeys that inhabit the area, considered holy by locals. You can climb 365 steps to reach the stupa, where panoramic views of Kathmandu and the surrounding valley await. The complex also includes numerous shrines, temples, and a museum, making it a significant cultural and religious landmark.
Next, visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, a historic plaza that once served as the royal palace complex of the Malla kings of Nepal. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a remarkable showcase of traditional Newar architecture, featuring intricately carved wooden windows, multi-tiered pagodas, and ornate statues. The square is surrounded by several significant structures, including the Hanuman Dhoka Palace (now a museum) and Kumari Ghar, the residence of the living goddess Kumari. Despite suffering damage in the 2015 earthquake, ongoing restoration efforts continue to preserve its grandeur. Overnight in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, check out and proceed for a full-day city tour of Kathmandu. Begin with a visit to Pashupatinath Temple, located on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River. One of the most revered Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, this sprawling complex features gold-plated roofs and silver doors, and is a UNESCO World Heritage site that draws thousands of pilgrims every year — particularly during the Maha Shivaratri festival. The temple complex is alive with religious activity, with numerous smaller shrines, ashrams, and ghats where ritual cremations take place. The spiritual atmosphere is palpable, with the air filled with the sound of bells, chants, and the fragrance of incense.
Next, visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest spherical stupas in the world and a major pilgrimage site for Buddhists. Its massive white dome is crowned with a golden spire painted with Buddha's all-seeing eyes, creating a striking and serene presence. Encircled by prayer wheels and colorful prayer flags, Boudhanath is a thriving center of Tibetan culture in Nepal, with numerous monasteries and shops selling Tibetan artifacts surrounding it. The site radiates peace and spirituality, as monks, locals, and tourists walk clockwise around the stupa, spinning prayer wheels and chanting mantras.
Later, drive to Nagarkot, passing through the historic Bhaktapur Durbar Square along the way. On arrival, check in to your hotel. In the evening, step outside to enjoy a spectacular Sunset View — Nagarkot is renowned for its breathtaking sunsets, as the sky transforms into a canvas of vibrant hues, casting a golden glow over the mountains and valleys below. Overnight in Nagarkot.

Wake up early to witness the Sunrise View from Nagarkot — one of the finest vantage points in Nepal. As the first light of day illuminates the snow-capped peaks, including Mount Everest and other towering summits, the panoramic vistas create an unforgettable and deeply moving experience. The tranquil ambiance makes this morning one of the highlights of the entire tour.
After breakfast, check out and begin the transfer to Pokhara. En route, stop at Manakamana Temple, a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati — an incarnation of Parvati. Perched on a hilltop at an altitude of approximately 1,302 metres, the temple is renowned for fulfilling the wishes of devoted pilgrims. Today, a scenic cable car offers a convenient 10-minute ride from the base of the hill to the temple, making it accessible to all visitors. The spiritual atmosphere is enriched by the panoramic views of the Trishuli River and the surrounding hills, making the experience of visiting Manakamana Temple both sacred and scenic.

Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
Spend the full day exploring the beautiful city of Pokhara on a guided city tour.
Begin at Bindabashini Temple, one of the oldest and most revered Hindu temples in the region, dedicated to Goddess Durga. Situated atop a hill, the temple offers stunning views of the city and the surrounding mountain ranges, and is an important pilgrimage site — especially during the festival of Dashain.
Next, visit Gupteshwor Cave, a sacred cave that houses a revered Shiva lingam. A natural marvel with impressive stalactites and stalagmites, the cave holds deep spiritual significance. A staircase leads down into the cave, which runs beneath Devi's Fall — you can actually hear the thundering sound of the waterfall from inside the cave.
Just outside, witness Devi's Fall (locally known as Patale Chhango), a powerful and beautiful waterfall where water from Phewa Lake flows into an underground tunnel, creating a spectacular and mysterious sight. According to legend, the waterfall was named after a Swiss visitor named Devi who was swept away by the current, adding an air of mystique to the location.
Continue to the Seti River, which carves deep gorges and canyons through the city's landscape. The river's milky white water — coloured by the limestone and minerals it carries — is a striking and distinctive feature of Pokhara.
Then visit Phewa Lake, the second-largest lake in Nepal, surrounded by lush hills and overlooked by the Annapurna mountain range. The lake is perfect for boating and relaxation. In the middle of the lake sits Tal Barahi Temple, a two-storey pagoda dedicated to Goddess Barahi. The calm waters reflect the surrounding mountains and sky, creating a serene and picturesque environment.
Conclude the day at the Peace Pagoda (World Peace Pagoda), an impressive stupa situated on a hilltop overlooking Phewa Lake. Built as a symbol of peace, the pagoda offers panoramic views of Pokhara, the lake, and the Annapurna range. Its white structure and golden spire create a striking contrast against the green hills and blue sky, making it a popular spot for meditation and reflection. Overnight in Pokhara.
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Chitwan. On arrival, check in to your jungle resort.
In the afternoon, set out on a guided Village Tour for a unique glimpse into the traditional lifestyle of the Tharu people — the indigenous inhabitants of the Chitwan region. Walk through the village, observe traditional mud houses, rice paddies, and locals going about their daily activities such as farming and fishing. The Tharu community is known for its rich culture and warm hospitality, and the tour provides a wonderful opportunity to learn about their customs, traditional clothing, and handicrafts.
In the evening, enjoy a vibrant Tharu Cultural Dance Program. This colourful performance showcases various traditional dances accompanied by traditional instruments and songs. Dancers in bright attire perform energetic and rhythmic moves, often depicting stories of daily life, hunting, and ancient folklore. The stick dance — known as the Tharu Stick Dance or "Tharu Danda Nach" — is particularly popular and impressive. The performance not only entertains but also offers a deeper understanding of Tharu heritage and cultural identity. Overnight in Chitwan.
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
Today is dedicated entirely to exploring the wonders of Chitwan National Park — one of South Asia's finest wildlife reserves and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Start with Bird Watching: Chitwan is a paradise for bird enthusiasts, boasting over 550 species of birds, including endangered species such as the Bengal florican and the great hornbill. Bird-watching tours take you through diverse habitats — grasslands, wetlands, and riverbanks — where you can spot colourful species like kingfishers, herons, and woodpeckers.
Next, enjoy an Elephant Safari — a unique and thrilling way to explore the jungle and observe wildlife up close. Seated atop an elephant and accompanied by an experienced mahout (elephant handler), traverse through tall grasslands and dense forests. This is one of the best ways to safely encounter animals such as rhinos, deer, wild boars, and — if you are lucky — even Bengal tigers and leopards.
Then embark on a Jungle Walk for a more intimate exploration of Chitwan's diverse ecosystems on foot. Trek through dense foliage, across streams, and along animal trails. This allows you to observe smaller wildlife and learn about medicinal plants, bird calls, and animal tracks while enjoying the serenity of the forest.
End the day with a peaceful Canoeing experience along the Rapti or Narayani River. This gentle canoe ride offers a unique perspective of the jungle from the water, allowing you to spot crocodiles, turtles, and various bird species at close range. Overnight in Chitwan.
