Pahalgam is also renowned as a favourite filming location for the Indian film industry. The evening is free for leisure.
Meals: Dinner
After breakfast, enjoy the natural charm of the valley with a visit to Aru Valley, Chandanwari, and Betaab Valley by local taxi (on a direct payment basis). Return to the hotel by evening, which is free for leisure.
Betaab Valley: Located 15 km from Pahalgam, Betaab Valley takes its name from the hit film Betaab, starring Sunny Deol and Amrita Singh. Situated northeast of Pahalgam between Pahalgam and Chandanwari, and en route to the Amarnath Temple Yatra, the valley is surrounded by lush green meadows, snow-capped mountains, and dense vegetation.
Aru Valley: Located around 12 km from Pahalgam and 11 km upstream from the Lidder River, Aru Valley is known for its scenic meadows, lakes, and mountains. It serves as a base camp for treks to the Kolhoi Glacier and Tarsar Lake. The village lies on the left bank of the Aru River, a tributary of the Lidder River.
Chandanwari: Situated 16 km from Pahalgam, Chandanwari marks the starting point of the annual Amarnath Yatra, held during the month of Sawan (the rainy season). It is also famous for snow sledging on a natural snow bridge.
Meals: Dinner
After breakfast, depart from Pahalgam and drive towards Gulmarg. Known as the "Meadow of Flowers," Gulmarg sits at 2,730 metres above sea level and is a popular hill station and skiing destination during the winter months. It is home to a well-known ski resort and the world's highest 18-hole golf course. Gulmarg is also famous for the Gulmarg Gondola, one of the highest cable cars in the world (on a direct payment basis). Optional activities include snow skiing, sledging, ATV/snow bike rides, and horse riding (on a direct payment basis).
Meals: Dinner
After breakfast, leave Gulmarg and drive towards Sonmarg. Meaning "Meadow of Gold," Sonmarg sits at 2,800 metres above sea level, with snow-capped mountains set against a clear blue sky as its backdrop. The Sindh River meanders through the region and is home to trout and mahseer fish. Snow blankets the area like a white carpet, and ponies can be hired for a trip up to the Thajwas Glacier — a major summer attraction (on a direct payment basis). The evening is free for leisure.
