Arrive Cairo International Airport, after Baggage Collection transfer to check in hotel. Proceed to visit Egyptian Museum (Museum of Egyptian Antiquities) is one of largest and most comprehensive museums of ancient Egyptian artifacts in world with over 120,000 items on display. Most famous artifacts on display at museum include treasures of King Tutankhamun including his Golden Death Mask and other items from his tomb. German Fountain is a beautiful neo-Byzantine fountain that was built in the late 19th century to commemorate visit of Emperor Wilhelm II of Germany to Istanbul. Hippodrome Square is also surrounded by several historic buildings, including Blue Mosque also known as Sultan Ahmed Mosque a historic mosque was built during reign of Sultan Ahmed I and is known for its impressive architecture and stunning Blue tile work. Blue Mosque features large central Dome, Six Minarets and Eight Smaller Domes. The interior of Mosque is decorated with intricate tile work, stained glass windows and beautiful calligraphy. Mosque also has large courtyard with fountain for ritual ablutions. One of most impressive features of Blue Mosque is its interior lighting. Mosque has over 200 windows that provide natural light during day and at night mosque is illuminated with beautiful Blue lights, giving it a magical appearance. Hagia Sophia also known as Ayasofya in Turkish is former Eastern Orthodox Cathedral, later converted into Mosque and now Museum. The building was constructed in 6th century AD during reign of Emperor Justinian I and it served as Principal Church of Eastern Orthodox Church for almost a thousand years until it was converted into Mosque after Ottoman conquest of Constantinople in 1453. Building was converted into Museum by order of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founder of modern Turkish republic. It remained a museum until July 2020 when Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan issued a decree converting the building back into Mosque.
